Welcome!

This is the place where I will post information every month about the goings on in our classroom. I am guessing that since you found this blog, you have received my letter!!  If not, you should be getting it any day now. I am so excited for the upcoming year...we are going to have a great time together while stretching and growing our brains!!

I hope to get a chance to meet you all on Thursday, August 29th from 3-4 pm at our Open House. Feel free to bring your school supplies and put them in your desk that afternoon...it will make the backpack a lot lighter Monday morning!!

If you'd like to communicate with me BEFORE the 29th..maybe you'd like me to know what name you like to be called, or you'd like to tell me something interesting about your summer, or maybe you just have a question...please feel free to email me...karen.wills@fcps.org!

Enjoy the rest of your summer break...I will see you VERY soon!

What an Amazing Year!! Part Four

Part Four - Manhattan Pizza Field Trip, Kindergarten Buddies, and The Ag Bus

Visiting Manhattan Pizza, our local pizza restaurant, was a wonderful tie into our Economics unit! The kids got to see production, specialization, interdependence, advertising, etc AND make and eat their own pizzas! The smiles tell the rest...

I believe this picture was taken right before Valentine's Day...it was with our Kindergarten Buddies!!

In late Spring we got to visit the Ag Lab two times and perform hands-on science experiments that had to do with agriculture...this is a real highlight each year for the kids!

This door was decorated by Ms. Simmons for our Blueberry Festival...isn't it awesome!!

 Visit #2

Our last Kindergarten Buddy time we played on the playground and ate popsicles!!

Mrs. DG's last day...we gave her gifts and threw a little farewell party!

What an Amazing Year!! Part Three

We were so lucky to have Mr. Welter come in and share his expertise in science experiments this Spring!

We met with our Kindergarten buddies in early spring to tie dye coffee filters...then we made them into flowers! We loved our Kindergarten buddies!
