HAPPY SUMMER!!!

Oh, my, gosh....I have SOOOOO many pictures from the end of the year to share with you AND....some that show how our classmates are enjoying THEIR summers!!  I need more pictures, everyone...so send them to my email and I will post YOUR summer!

I think I will start with how Lily and Maggie have been spending their time in HAWAII!!!

Maggie and Lily on a sailboat on the NaPali Coast!

Here are some Spinner Dolphins they saw on the NaPali Coast!

Guess who graduated surf school?!

Look behind them...there are endangered Hawaiian monk seals...this is by the beach at their hotel!

They hiked Diamond Head!

And here they are in front of the largest garden maze...curious to find out if they went IN it!!

AND HERE IS WHERE YOUR PICTURE COULD BE!!  Send me pictures....can just be of you smiling because you're happy it's summer...and I will post it!

NOW...here are some fun memories to look back on!

ENTREPRENEURS...our Economics unit culminated in this amazing project...the kids formed companies, took out loans, created products, advertised their products, and then learned quickly about supply and demand...they had two different market days...they took turns being sellers and buyers...and then calculated their profit and reflected on the entire process deciding what they would do differently if they could do it again...the smiles tell all...they loved it!!

Like I said...it was an awesome culmination to our economics unit!!

ANOTHER cool thing that went on in the last quarter of school was our MAKERSPACE...this is a place where the kids can use their curiosity and imagination to create, invent, collaborate, experiment, and reflect.

Take a look at some of their inventions....

The MakerSpace ran during my three rotations, so it was really hard to take pictures since I was usually working with a group...sorry for the lack of pictures!  Definitely ask your child about it...ask them what their favorite MakerSpace activity was...some will say "LittleBits" or "MakeyMakey" (working with circuits), some will say origami, some will say coding, some will say creating with recyclable materials, some will say creating with legos or KNEX, etc, etc...but they will have lots to say if you ask questions.

I still have more to share, but this is enough for one post...will post pictures of our last field trip and Field Day soon!  Please send pictures of your kids and their summer activities!

And tell them I miss seeing them...'cause I really do!

Happy End of January

I’m learning that this blog doesn’t really fit into my life anymore...any extra time I have is spent working on enhancing instruction...and ...
