No School :-(

I know that many kids are disappointed that we didn't have school today...they were excited about their field trip and also wanted an opportunity to say goodbye to Mrs. Huston. Please inform them that she will be in on Friday for the class picture and that the field trip will be rescheduled!!

I want you to know that I am very aware that the children may have a rough time with this transition...Mrs. Huston is a wonderful teacher and they all adore her. When I first started teaching I took over for a woman who had a baby in February...18 years ago...I know how important routines are and I will do my best to make this transition smooth!

I have copied quite a few of Mrs. Huston's links from her blog to mine and I've added one new one...it is the Social Studies link. It comes from the company that publishes our textbook. Our new social studies unit is political science...we will be learning about the government on all levels: local, state, and national...we will learn what being a good citizen means and the definition of rights and responsibilities...and much more! We will be focusing on Chapters 7 and 8 this week. The website has a great vocabulary game that goes along with each chapter. It is called eWord. Have the kids try it out...I had a lot of fun finding it! :-)
